Ballet themed nursery or little girl's room

I recently redecorated my baby girl's nursery into a soft pink, ballet-themed room. If you are interested in putting together a baby girl's room that is blush pink, read on. Here are the key components of the look:

Walls

I kept the colors very light, more of a blush/peachy muted pink rather than a bubblegum pink. The wall color is very important - it really brings together the entire look. I would go for a very light color - when in doubt, go more light. This is because when the room is not lit, the color shows up darker because of the shadows. Anything in the blush pink, peachy pink category works well for a ballet-themed nursery. The exact shade we used was Silky Smooth 1373 by Benjamin Moore.

Another tip is to use Benjamin Moore Natura paint. This paint line is hypoallergenic and does not emit fumes. It really made a huge difference - so you don't feel like the whole room smells of toxic paint.

Paintings

Choose a few fun ballet themed paintings like ballet slippers, dresses, ribbons, or ballerinas to fit with the theme. They don't all have to be pink - white and cream works just as well.

Lights

A cute and fun chandelier (this one is covered in shells from Pottery Barn) makes the room feel more soft.

Blankets / Clothing

The blankets and clothing I gravitated towards were in the pale pink / blush / mauve category. I love this cashmere blanket from Parachute

Toys

Another cute toy that I love taking photos of is the Cuddle and Kind stuffed animal. the details are to die for, including the little knit dress and flower crown.
